"In the middle of winter I at last discovered that there was in me an invincible summer."
Albert Camus
It is the time of year when the sun sets almost before we realize the day has started. Every year I wait anxiously for this day, the winter solstice. I know that from this point forward the days will grow longer and brighter and warmer.
In the north country, winter light is great for photography. The sun is low on the horizon most of the day, making almost the entire day a "golden hour." This time of year the eagles are collecting at Lake Coeur d'Alene and photographers with "real" cameras are too. What a great way to beat cabin fever!
Here is a collection of winter scenes for my friends and family. I am so lucky have met so many new friends this last year and been able to stay in touch with the old ones. Wishing all of you the best during this season of light!

PS: I am trying different options of sharing videos. This one uses the ProShow Gold website. I'd love to hear your feedback on how it works (or doesn't) for you.
